Mountain States Cup · MSC Picks
MSC Picks is a free prediction game — a contest of skill, scored against the official results of the Mountain States Cup finale at Purgatory, August 27–30. Nine picks across five classes make a card.
Call the top three, in order, in Pro Men and Pro Women, and the winner in each of three junior classes. Every class is required — a card is all nine picks, and the closer it sits to the official results, the more it scores.
Free to enter, free to play. No purchase necessary, and a purchase changes nothing.
Open to residents of the United States, any state. Void where prohibited.
Under 18? You can play — enter with a parent or guardian's email. That address is the entry of record and the one we contact.
One entry per person per contest. Entries that break the rules can be removed.
An entry is your email, a display name, and all nine picks, sent from the picks page.
The pick sheet for each class lists everyone entered in that class at Purgatory plus everyone ranked in it this season. A rider without a 2026 ranking shows a dash in place of a season line.
Picks lock at the lock time posted on the picks page. The server clock decides — not your phone.
Until lock, entering again with the same email replaces your earlier picks. It never adds a second entry. After lock, nothing moves.
Scored per class, against the official finals results.
In a podium class, a perfect winner call is worth 10 on its own: 5 for the slot, +5 for the winner. Three exact slots are 15; the winner bonus takes a perfect class to 20.
In a winner class there is nothing in between: the exact winner scores 10, any other rider scores 0. No podium points there.
Two perfect podium classes and three exact winners are the 70-point ceiling.
A rider who doesn't appear in the official results scores 0 in any slot you gave them. If the official results list fewer than three places in a podium class, the unfilled places score nothing; a winner class with no official winner scores nothing — points are never invented.
If officials amend the results, scores re-run to match them.
After lock we show, for each class, every rider the field picked and how often — the share of entries that called them to win.
Riders nobody picked aren't listed. Before lock, nothing about the field's picks is shown.
Ties on points break to the earlier entry.
Replacing your picks re-stamps your entry to the time of the replacement. Holding early picks keeps the tie-break edge; changing your mind trades it away.
Winner gets a free 2027 Mountain States Cup season pass.
The winner is the top card after tie-breaks, contacted at the entry email after scoring is final.
Your email identifies your entry and reaches you if you win. Nothing else — unless you check the box.
Check “Keep me posted on MSC racing” and MSC may email you about the series. Leave it unchecked and MSC won't.
Public surfaces show display names and anonymous aggregates — the field's call, the leaderboard. Emails never appear anywhere public.
